To Add a Risk Action to an Early Warning Notification

As a result of a risk reduction meeting between the Project Manager and Contractor, it may be deemed necessary that mitigating actions be performed, in which case, the Project Manager creates and assigns one or more risk actions to resolve the issues. Each risk action can have more than one tasks associated with it.

Project Managers will follow these steps to create a risk action in an Early Warning Notification (EWN):

  1. Open the EWN to which you want to add a risk action.
  2. Select the Risk Actions tab. This tab lists all risk actions that have been assigned to this EWN.
  3. From the Actions menu, select Add Risk Action.
  4. Select the risk action from the list, to open it. The Risk Action page appears, open to the Attributes tab. For example:
  5. Accept or change the default risk action Number.
  6. Enter a descriptive Title for the risk action.
  7. Describe the risk action in the Details box.
  8. Select a Risk reduction meeting date by clicking the calendar icon ( ), and selecting a date.
  9. Select a Date issued by clicking the calendar icon ( ), and selecting a date.
  10. Select a Due date by clicking the calendar icon ( ), and selecting a date.
  11. In the Communication status list, select Open.
  12. Select the Communications tab, and then select the EWN number from the list. The parent EWN opens.
  13. Select the Risk Actions tab and then select the risk action.
  14. Update the Date actioned by clicking the calendar icon ( ), and selecting a date.
  15. In the Communication status list, select Closed.
  16. Select the Task tab.
  17. From the Actions menu, select Complete selected.
The Take Action task is completed.
